In this role you will:

Under the direction of the Associate Director, Administrative Computing, this position is responsible for a range of functional and technical activities to improve the overall operational effectiveness of 3rd party applications and interfaces with the Ellucian Banner ERP suite. The Applications Programmer is responsible for identifying and documenting business/system requirements through the lifecycle of projects that span multiple functions. The incumbent must be able to analyze and debug issues related to code, infrastructure, and testing configurations as well as define and create software products, frameworks, reference architectures, and patterns and practices for implementation. Critical is the capability to solve application programming problems using Oracle’s procedural language extension to SQL (PL/SQL).

The Applications Programmer III performs complex computer programming work in the ERP client/server enterprise applications (such as Banner and Workday.) Work involves assisting in the planning and scheduling of ERP programming projects; analyzing proposed ERP applications; preparing and developing programs; and providing technical assistance. Analyze and debug issues related to code, infrastructure, and testing configurations. Define and create software products, frameworks, reference architectures, and patterns and practices for implementation. Solve application programming problems using Oracle’s procedural language extension to SQL (PL/SQL). Write effective unit tests that ensure the quality and reliability of products. Employ continuous integration, testing, deployment & release methodologies. Design and implement integrations between software platforms, programs, and applications. Identify, plan, and execute integration strategies, create tools for other developers, ensure ongoing monitoring, and maintain as well as optimize software builds.

The Applications Programmer III will also collaborate closely with other technical and functional teams to deliver high quality products on time. Communicate complex technical issues to internal and external stakeholders using strong written and verbal communication skills. Participate in conducting code and peer reviews and suggesting improvements in overall process that drive quality and efficiency. Produce high quality technical documentation detailing technical design specifications and respective technical diagrams and effectively communicate project status and key issues to Team Leads and/or Leadership.

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
