Role

Ancestry is looking for a Content Designer to join our UX Editorial team. The Content Designer will work with internal teams to create and manage self-service support / help solutions for Ancestry customers. Specific responsibilities will include:

● Writing new articles: Creating customer-facing content to answer common questions and provide how-to steps for tasks on Ancestry based on information from product managers, UX designers, user researchers, genealogists, scientists, and the legal department

● Auditing existing articles: Reviewing and updating current support articles as needed due to changes in the user experience or guidance from internal partners.

● Preparing articles for translation: Partnering with the localization team to ensure the timely translation of content into multiple languages.

● Drafting video scripts: Writing scripts for video tutorials about performing basic activities on Ancestry.

● Moderating focus groups: Proactively gathering feedback about the support center and its content from employees who communicate with customers daily.

● Process optimization: Identifying difficult or complex customer workflows and providing feedback to internal partners.

Required qualifications

● Writing skills that only need minimal editing

● Capable of following editorial style guides

● Able to catch and correct grammatical errors

● Excellent writing samples, preferably including one of a technical nature
